A Quieter Beginning
More spaciousness. Moments of quiet. Small delights— and a few chances to practice with me.
While the earth rests in its yearly hibernation, we humans are often met with a different energy—
the subtle pressure of the new year, carried by tired nervous systems and bedraggled cortisol leftover from the holidays
We are surrounded by messages like:
“A New Year: A New You.”
And I find myself wondering—
what, exactly, is wrong with the person already here?
So often, we are told how we need to change.
Less often we are met in our enoughness.
Advertising.
Social media.
Parents.
Well-meaning friends.
Even coaches and therapists—offering guidance about how we should be living our lives differently.
Advice is everywhere.
Often shared with care, yet quietly implying:
we can can’t quite trust ourselves.
That if we just follow the right steps, everything will finally fall into place.
But what if nothing is broken?
What if you are already enough?
What if this year our intention was simply to be.
To live this one, imperfect, beautiful life according to you—
with your values and your longings leading the way.
More of what brings you alive.
Less of what dims you or pulls you away from yourself.
A life guided not by fear or self-doubt, pleasing others,
but by a quieter inner listening.
Not by doing more.
But by softening.
Getting quiet.
Dropping in.
Listening.
Trusting.
Turning back toward your own inner wisdom.
Because we already have everything we need.
Coming Up This Season 🌿
I am longing for spaces that support this kind of listening—
spaces that invite softness, restoration, and reconnection—
I’m creating a few gatherings in the coming weeks.
JourneyDance - Friday, Jan 16 @ 4:00pm
A guided, music-rich movement practice where the body leads.
Here, we move sensation, emotion, and stored energy—
without choreography, without performance, without needing to know what comes next.
Yoga Nidra - Friday, Jan 16 @ 5:15pm EST (also offered online)
A deeply restorative practice of conscious rest.
Yoga Nidra supports the nervous system in settling and integrating—
meeting you beneath effort and beneath thought.
Day of Bliss - Saturday, Jan 24 Full-Day Retreat
Experience JourneyDance and Yoga Nidra as part of a full day of nourishing and enlivening practices led by the Aloha Keene community.
A true pause.
A day to step out of striving and into presence—
held by rhythm, rest, and community.
Details and registration for all events are shared below.
You’re welcome to join in whatever way feels right.
Why pair JourneyDance with Yoga Nidra?
Movement opens the body.
Stillness allows what has moved to settle.
JourneyDance invites expression and release.
Yoga Nidra offers a place to rest—
so the nervous system can absorb and restore.
Together, they create a gentle arc:
from movement → to rest
from expression → to deep listening
Especially supportive during winter,
when many of us are carrying more than we realize.
My Intention on This Threshold
As we step into this new year, I’m holding a simple invitation.
To move more slowly than the world suggests.
To listen more deeply than the noise allows.
More spaciousness.
Moments of quiet.
Small delights.
A remembering of magic—
subtle, ordinary, and alive in the everyday.
We don’t need to know who we are becoming yet.
We are allowed to emerge slowly,
guided by our own rhythm,
in conversation with the season
rather than the urgency around us.
May this be a year of quiet listening,
gentle delight,
and simple magic for all of us.
With love,
Caitlin 🤍

This practice has moved me in ways I can barely name — opening my heart, clearing old energy, and helping me return again and again to the truth of who I am beneath all the noise.
JourneyDance™ is practice designed to support emotional release, nervous system regulation, and creative self-expression — all through intuitive movement.
There is no choreography.
No performance.
Just music, guided imagery, and the freedom to move in the ways your body has been longing for.
Together, we will:
~ Shake and shed what no longer serves
~ Evoke and release unprocessed emotions and stories
